Wilderness First Aid AFLOAT

We are excited to offer *Wilderness First Aid Afloat* taught by Stonehearth Open Learning Opportunites (SOLO). The pilot course of this was offered a few years ago as *Wilderness First Aid H2O* with the help of SOLO instructor Todd A. Johnstone-Wright. To ensure that our guests are best served, we are offering this course to ensure that our staff is better prepared to handle situations. We are opening this class to the general public to improve their skills in order to handle emergencies on the water. If you work on or near the water, this course is for you! Spaces are limited so register early by emailing us at: kayak@aquaterra-adventures.com

When: May 17th & 18th (2 full days) - times 8:30am - 5pm/Optional CPR 5:30pm - approximately 7

The SOLO Wilderness First Aid Afloat course contains all the same information included in the SOLO Wilderness First Aid course with the exception of altitude illness. It also includes additional topics that are of specific interest to boaters, such as sea sickness, marine bites and stings, and some types of injuries that are more common in marine environments. This new program is also slightly different from the regular SOLO WFA course in that topics like sending for help have been adapted to be more applicable to situations that might arise on the water and in a water-based environment. The WFA Afloat meets all requirements of the United States Coast Guard for a Wilderness First Aid Course, and is listed as a approved course and curriculum by the USCG
